4 Principal Investigators at St. Boniface Hospital Research will receive new funding for grants and scholarships from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) over the next five years.

The awards total $640,000 and were included in a national announcement made by the Honourable Ed Holder, Minister of State (Science and Technology) June 28th.

Awardees include:

Dr Benedict Albensi, Principal Investigator, Synaptic Plasticity and Cellular Memory Dysfunction, Division of Neurodegenerative Disorders and Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics, University of Manitoba

Dr Michel Aliani, Principal Investigator, Nutritional Metabolomics, Canadian Centre for Agri-Food Research in Health and Medicine, and Associate Professor, Department of Human Nutritional Sciences, University of Manitoba

Dr Carla Taylor, Principal Investigator, Metabolic Nutrition, Canadian Centre for Agri-Food Research in Health and Medicine, and Professor, Human Nutritional Sciences, University of Manitoba

Dr Peter Zahradka, Principal Investigator, Molecular Physiology, Canadian Centre for Agri-Food Research in Health and Medicine, and Professor, Physiology & Pathophysiology, University of Manitoba
