La Soirée Chocolatée … a Sweet Success
Image

On June 4, St. Boniface Hospital & Research Foundation (SBHRF) hosted the 5th annual La Soirée chocolatée at St. Boniface General Hospital Research Centre. The pre-fundraising event for SBHRF Radiothon de l’espoir Radio-Canada was a sold-out success.

Radiothon Co-Chairs, Hélène Bulger and Simone Neveux, emceed the evening while SBHRF President & CEO Stuart Murray brought greetings from the Foundation and Gilbert Gauthier acted as auctioneer.

Special guest and Chicago Blackhawks player Jonathan Toews was in attendance to help present the auction items he donated – including two tickets to a Chicago Blackhawks game, a two night stay in Chicago and dinner for two with Jonathan himself. Raymond and Cécile Poirier generously donated the Aeroplan miles for the auction winner and a guest to fly roundtrip to Chicago. The Toews/Poirier prize package raised an incredible $8,500!

Guests enjoyed participating in the live auction, a silent auction and raffles, they were also entertained with a variety of fantasy casino tables and other games, while they feasted on a selection of delicious hors d’oeuvres, chocolate desserts, martinis, and wine. The hors d’oeuvres were prepared and served by culinary students from Strasbourg, France who are currently studying at the Club Regent Casino.

A special thank you to Radiothon of Hope Radio-Canada title sponsors, Caisse Saint- Boniface and George and Marie Rajotte; event sponsor, Bockstael Construction; Audio- Visual sponsor, Inland AV; as well as the many other participating sponsors. Thanks also to Soirée Chair Andrée Gilbert, the committee members, volunteers, and all ticket purchasers.

Proceeds from La Soirée chocolatée and the Radiothon of Hope Radio-Canada stay in Manitoba and go directly toward live saving medical research and advancements in patient care at the St. Boniface Campus.

Merci infiniment de votre appui!
