MP Marc Garneau (Westmount–Ville Marie), who became Canada’s first person in space in 1984 aboard the space shuttle Challenger, recently and came by to tour the Research Centre accompanied by Dr. Grant Pierce, Executive Director of Research.
Canada’s first astronaut came to Winnipeg this week to help celebrate the country’s centennial of flight.
The pioneer in Canada’s space program also planned to visit with schools, colleges, community leaders and political colleagues.
