An innovative new study conducted at St. Boniface Hospital, in partnership with the University of Manitoba, led by Dr. Davinder S. Jassal, Principal Investigator, St. Boniface Hospital and Assistant Professor of Cardiology, Radiology and Physiology, University of Manitoba, shows running marathons causes short-term cardiac injury, but does not result in permanent heart muscle damage.
