Dr. Gordon Glazner will join local radio host and MC Ace Burpee in the first annual Manitoba Lotteries Trivia Challenge, an evening of laughs and entertainment with a trivia challenge, silent auction, and prizes.   The event will be held on Thursday, October 22nd at Stereo Nightclub – Canad Inns Windsor Park, with funds raised supporting the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.  The Society provides financial support for Glazner’s research at St. Boniface Hospital Research Centre, where he is Principal Investigator of the Cellular Neuropathology & Neurodegeneration lab in the Division of Neurodegenerative Disorders. Dr. Glazner is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics at the University of Manitoba.

Dr. Glazner says that just as physical activity improves your body’s ability to function, mental activity improves your brain health and reduces your risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease. “The brain is the essence of who we are,” says cellular biologist Dr. Gordon Glazner. “Taking care of your brain today reduces the risk of dementia for the future.”  Dr. Glazner will also appear on CJOB’s “The Night Hawk” with Jeff Courier  from 9-10pm on Oct 15, and City TV’s Breakfast Television with Brian Yasui on October 21st,  to speak about his research program and promote the event.

The doors open at 6:30 pm and trivia starts at 7:30 pm.  Registration fee is $20 with a maximum of 10 people per team. To register or for more information call 943-6622 or visit alzheimer.mb.ca
