The Wildewood Club was once again the site of our 9th annual Stroke for Stroke Golf Tournament on Tuesday, June 15, 2010.

As opposed to last year, when some 70 hardy souls braved constant rain to conquer the 9-hole course, this year’s teams had near perfect weather in which to show off their golfing prowess. Teams were also introduced to a new category of competition, the Lab Challenge, where teams putt for prizes. Dinner and many prize draws followed.

The event was not without controversy however, as “The Pumps” claimed the tournament victory by submitting an inaccurate score. Applause received and trophy pictures taken, a review of score cards indicated that the team’s 9th hole score had not been recorded and the team was disqualified. “It was all an innocent mistake,” claimed team representative Todd Duhamel. “We were excited that we’d made par on the last hole, and in that excitement we forgot to add that hole to the total.”
