St. Boniface Hospital Foundation launches largest lottery in its history

Foundation’s 2012 Mega Million Choices Lottery to award more than $2.7 million in prizes

JANUARY 19, 2012 (WINNIPEG, MB) – St. Boniface Hospital Foundation today announced the launch of its 2012 Mega Million Choices Lottery. With more than $2.7 million in prizes, including two Grand Prize Show Homes or all cash options, the 2012 Mega Million is the largest lottery in St. Boniface Hospital Foundation’s history.

“For the first time in our history, St. Boniface Hospital Foundation’s Mega Million Choices Lottery is offering luxury homes – but with a twist – we are also offering a cash option. This will continue our tradition of being Manitoba’s hospital lottery of choice, offering winners the opportunity to take the prize or the cash,” says John Graham, Chair, St.Boniface Hospital Foundation Lotteries. “This year, we’re taking the lottery to the next level. We are giving away a $1.2 million home or $1,025,000 in cash.”

Tickets sales for the 2012 Mega Million Choices Lottery opened to the public earlier today. A single ticket can be purchased for $100, 3-packs are $250, and new this year, ticket purchasers can buy a 7-pack of tickets for $500. Also new in 2012, ticket purchasers can opt to buy a 50/50 ticket with their lottery ticket purchase. The 50/50 draw promises a minimum prize of $10,000 and can grow up to $700,000 – with a $350,000 pay out for the winner. Tickets are $10 each, five for $25 and 15 for $50. Grand Prize and 50/50 prize draws will take place on Friday, March 23,2012 at the Grand Prize Show Home, located at 42 Cypress Ridge, Winnipeg.

The Grand Prize in the 2012 Mega Million Choices Lottery is a beautiful, custom-built Artista home valued atmore than $1.2 million. The 3,500 square foot home comes fully furnished. Included in the top prize is a 2012 BMW X3, or $52,000 cash. Alternatively, the winner can choose to take a full cash payout of $1,025,000.

The second Grand Prize is for a $325,000 town home in Bridgwater Forest, by Streetside Development Corp. and a 2012 Dodge Journey, or a furniture credit or $22,000 cash. Alternatively, the winner can choose to take $275,000 in cash.

Other prizes include cars, electronics, and luxury vacations. An incredible 4,860 prizes are available to be won, making the odds of taking home a prize one in 12! The total prize value exceeds $2.7 million in value!

Those who purchase their tickets early can win one of two Bonus Prize Ultimate Sports Packages. The first deadline is February 3, the second deadline is February 24. The Ultimate Sports Packages include a Winnipeg Jets hockey suite for 12, Winnipeg Blue Bombersseason tickets for two and Bomber merchandise, and a dinner party for 12 at 529 Wellington, or $8,000 in cash. The Foundation is offering the largest Early Bird package ever worth over $180,000 in value, including sixexciting vehicles or cash, and six getaway vacations or cash – and much more. The deadline to be eligible for the Early Bird prizes is March 9, 2012.
