On Friday November 2, 2012 approximately 50 Manitoba high school students travelled to St-Boniface Hospital Research as a part of the “2012 TD Discovery Day in Health Sciences”. Teaching Liaison Stephen Jones hosted tours to the Synaptic Plasticity Lab (directed by Dr. Benedict Albensi, Associate Professor, Pharmacology & Therapeutics, University of Manitoba, and Principal Investigator, Division of Neurodegenerative Disorders) as well as the Molecular Pathophysiology Lab (directed by Dr. Michael Czubryt, Associate Professor, Department of Physiology, University of Manitoba and Principal Investigator, Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences). In addition, the students were able to participate in hands-on activities in the laboratories.
