CTV Morning Live produced several news segments from the RCB Youth BIOlab this morning. The segments were hosted by reporter Rachel Lagacé, who together with Teaching Liaison Steve Jones highlighted aspects of the program.

Of course this couldn’t be done without students, and there to assist Steve were 4 bright and capable student scientists from Glenwood School – Toran Sheldon-Penner, Ian Spellman, Chantel Soriano, and Kira Warkentin, accompanied by teacher Shelley Waddell. Kudos for them; we had them here at 7:00 am and doing experiments by 7:30!

Thanks to everyone involved. It was fun! Pictures from the event were provided by Rob Blaich.

The RBC Youth BIOlab Jeunesse teaching laboratory was built with support from Manitoba Education, RBC, and the St. Boniface Hospital Foundation and opened its doors to students in Spring 2013. The program is delivered in partnership with Manitoba school divisions and with the support of the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) to connect St-Boniface Hospital and Research Centre to classroom learning.
