Congratulations to Dr. Tom Hack, CBCF Chair in Psychosocial and Supportive Care Oncology Research and Director, Psychosocial Oncology and Cancer Nursing Research, on winning the Canadian Association of Psychosocial Oncology’s 2014 Award for Research Excellence. The award was presented at their annual conference held May 2, 2014 at the Hotel Fort Garry in Winnipeg.
The award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to research in psychosocial oncology in Canada.
Dr. Hack is a Professor in the Faculties of Nursing, Medicine, and Graduate Studies at the University of Manitoba, and a clinical psychologist with CancerCare Manitoba.
The Canadian Association of Psychosocial Oncology (CAPO) is an organization of professionals, clinicians, researchers, educators, and others dedicated to the understanding, treatment and study of the social, psychological, emotional, spiritual and quality-of-life aspects of cancer. CAPO leads nationally and globally in promoting capacity for, and excellence in psychosocial oncology services to enhance the wellness of individuals and families. The purpose of the CAPO is to foster and encourage interdisciplinary excellence in psychosocial research education and clinical practice in oncology.
