Drs Tom Hack, CBCF Chair in Psychosocial and Supportive Care Oncology Research and Director, Psychosocial Oncology and Cancer Nursing Research, and Susan McClement, Professor, Psychosocial Oncology and Cancer Nursing Research are going to the Sichuan University in Winnipeg’s sister city Chengdu, China to teach in the University Immersion Program (UIP). The program runs from June 29 to July 12, 2014, and they leave on June 26. Dr Hack will be teaching “Quantitative Research Methods in the Health Sciences”, and Sue will be teaching “Palliative Care”

The program is part of the International Students Summer Camp (ISSC) offered by the International Office of Sichuan University. According to their website, the ISSC is an “international exchange platform” that allows participants to create contacts and provide them with a “dynamic foundation for the exchange and dialogue of profound international perspectives”.http://www.google88.cn/web/scu/aboutscu.asp?id=125

Three University of Manitoba undergraduate students who have just completed their third year of studies in Nursing will be participating in this year’s summer camp. The students are Tamara Hiller, Sara Jaworski, and Jordan Loeb.
