The Canadian Centre for Agri-Food Research in Health and Medicine (CCARM) is pleased to announce that several trainees have received studentship funding in recognition of their academic excellence and research contributions.
At the graduate level, three MSc students have been awarded competitive studentship grants. Rashmi Siribaddanage has received $19,168 through the Mark & Patricia Smerchanski Endowed Studentship Grant. Sunita Karki has been awarded $13,266 from the Frank & Jeanne Plett Endowed Studentship Grant. Shanella Senadhiraja has received $4,624 through the TD Bank Group Graduate Student Award Grant.
In addition, CCARM is pleased to recognize the recipient of an undergraduate trainee award. Anna Koplovich has been selected as the 2025 undergraduate recipient of the Frank & Jeanne Plett Endowed Studentship Grant and will receive a $500 award in support of her research and career development.
These awards provide valuable support for trainees at different stages of their academic journey, enabling them to advance their research training and contribute to health and biomedical research at St. Boniface Hospital Research.
Dr. Thomas Netticadan, Team Leader of CCARM, expressed sincere appreciation to the St. Boniface Hospital Foundation for its continued commitment to supporting trainees. This funding plays an important role in fostering the next generation of researchers and strengthening the research community.
